J.D. started playing drums in in 1992, at the age of 11, the summer between fifth and sixth grade, being inspired by albums like Space Oddity and Led Zeppelin IV. Heaviest influences now come from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, Mozart, John Coltrane, Ravi Shankar Medeski Martin & Wood, Traffic and much more. J.D . started playing guitar and harmonica at 16 and at 19 started playing keyboards and created for himself a minor obsession with the Hammond organ.
