    The Lighthouse Commission is a 5-piece band from the Grand Rapids area that plays a unique, eclectic brand of rock music occupying a territory somewhere in the vicinity of Pink Floyd, Neil Young, The Cure and the Grateful Dead.

    Jon Chuchvara and Kevin Grant have been playing together since 1992, when they were in a band called The Paisley Conspiracy. Troy Johnson began playing with the two in 1995, in a band called Winnebago Wade & The Revelators. Some time after Winnebago Wade left the band, the band’s name was changed to The Lighthouse Commission. Jim Prange, a vocalist/guitarist/songwriter for another current Grand Rapids-area band, Scatterdome, joined The Lighthouse Commission in September 2003. John Wenger, a member of local bands String Theory and From The Ashes, joined the band in January 2007.
